संस्कृतभाषा नीराजना आरती

(Samskrtabhasa Nirajana Arati)

Also known as sanskrit bhasha nirajana arati · jaya samskrtabhase jaya samskrtabhase

An arati addressed to the Sanskrit language, in Sanskrit, and it is composed as though the language were a goddess with a body and a lineage. The Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita and all the Upanishads are called her divine body, and the thing she is rightly proud of. Then her people are named in two ranks: first the makers of systems — Kapila and Patanjali and Shankara, Gotama and Kanabhuj and Jaimini — and then the poets, Vyasa and Kalidasa, Bharavi and Bana, Bhavabhuti and Bhasa and Shriharsha, with Valmiki and Subandhu after them, and the question who else in the world could be set beside these. The last verses widen to the sciences she carries, astronomy and archery and Ayurveda and alchemy, and end by asking where peace is to be looked for if not at her feet.
