From the sixth book of the Mudgala Purana, and spoken by Aruna — the sun's own charioteer — which explains the form the hymn takes: it praises Ganesha as the sun. Salutation to the lord of the hosts, salutation to the lord of splendours; free of disease, lord of the gods, salutation to you who are the self. To you the lord of the brahmans, to you the lord of living beings; to the mouse-mounted, and to the one drawn by seven horses, salutation upon salutation. The two vehicles set side by side in a single verse — the mouse of the elephant-faced god and the seven horses of Surya's chariot — are the whole argument of the piece, and the reason it exists as a separate hymn rather than as another Ganesha stotra.

অৰুণ উৱাচ।
নমস্তে গণনাথায তেজসাং পতযে নমঃ ।
অনামযায দেৱেশ আত্মনে তে নমো নমঃ ॥ ১ ॥
ব্ৰহ্মণাং পতযে তুভ্যং জীৱানাং পতযে নমঃ ।
আখুৱাহনগাযৈৱ সপ্তাশ্ৱায নমো নমঃ ॥ ২ ॥
স্ৱানন্দৱাসিনে তুভ্যং সৌৰলোকনিৱাসিনে ।
চতুৰ্ভুজধৰাযৈৱ সহস্ৰকিৰণায চ ॥ ৩ ॥
সিদ্ধিবুদ্ধিপতে তুভ্যং সঞ্জ্ঞানাথায তে নমঃ ।
ৱিঘ্নহন্ত্ৰে তমোহন্ত্ৰে হেৰম্বায নমো নমঃ ॥ ৪ ॥
অনন্তৱিভৱাযৈৱ নামৰূপপ্ৰধাৰিণে ।
মাযাচালক সৰ্ৱেশ সৰ্ৱপূজ্যায তে নমঃ ॥ ৫ ॥
গ্ৰহৰাজায দীপ্তীনাং দীপ্তিদায যশস্ৱিনে ।
গণেশায পৰেশায ৱিঘ্নেশায নমো নমঃ ॥ ৬ ॥
ৱিৱস্ৱতে ভানৱে তে ৰৱযে জ্যোতিষাং পতে ।
লম্বোদৰৈকদন্তায মহোত্কটায তে নমঃ ॥ ৭ ॥
যঃ সূৰ্যো ৱিকটঃ সোঽপি ন ভেদো দৃশ্যতে কদা ।
ভক্তিং দেহি গজাস্য ত্ৱং ত্ৱদীযাং মে নমো নমঃ ॥ ৮ ॥
কিং স্তৌমি ত্ৱাং গণাধীশ যোগাকাৰস্ৱৰূপিণম্ ।
চতুৰ্ধা ভজ্য স্ৱাত্মানং খেলসি ত্ৱং ন সংশযঃ ॥ ৯ ॥
এৱং স্ৱস্য স্তুতিং শ্ৰুত্ৱা ৱিকটো ৰূপমাদধে ।
ৱামাঙ্গে সঞ্জ্ঞযা যুক্তং গজৱক্ত্ৰাদিচিহ্নিতম্ ॥ ১০ ॥
তং দৃষ্ট্ৱা প্ৰণনামাথানূৰুৰ্হৰ্ষসমন্ৱিতঃ ।
তং জগাদ গণাধীশো ৱৰং ৱৃণু হৃদীপ্সিতম্ ॥ ১১ ॥
ত্ৱযা কৃতমিদং স্তোত্ৰং সৰ্ৱসিদ্ধিপ্ৰদাযকম্ ।
ভৱিষ্যতি ন সন্দেহশ্চিন্তিতং স লভেত্ পৰম্ ॥ ১২ ॥
শৃণুযাদ্ৱা জপেদ্ৱাঽপি তস্য কিঞ্চিন্ন দুৰ্লভম্ ।
ভৱিষ্যতি মহাপক্ষিন্ মম সন্তোষকাৰকম্ ॥ ১৩ ॥
