From the sixth book of the Mudgala Purana, and spoken by Aruna — the sun's own charioteer — which explains the form the hymn takes: it praises Ganesha as the sun. Salutation to the lord of the hosts, salutation to the lord of splendours; free of disease, lord of the gods, salutation to you who are the self. To you the lord of the brahmans, to you the lord of living beings; to the mouse-mounted, and to the one drawn by seven horses, salutation upon salutation. The two vehicles set side by side in a single verse — the mouse of the elephant-faced god and the seven horses of Surya's chariot — are the whole argument of the piece, and the reason it exists as a separate hymn rather than as another Ganesha stotra.

॥ ಶ್ರೀ ಭಾನುವಿನಾಯಕ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮ್ ॥
ಅರುಣ ಉವಾಚ।
ನಮಸ್ತೇ ಗಣನಾಥಾಯ ತೇಜಸಾಂ ಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ ।
ಅನಾಮಯಾಯ ದೇವೇಶ ಆತ್ಮನೇ ತೇ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ ॥ ೧ ॥
ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣಾಂ ಪತಯೇ ತುಭ್ಯಂ ಜೀವಾನಾಂ ಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ ।
ಆಖುವಾಹನಗಾಯೈವ ಸಪ್ತಾಶ್ವಾಯ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ ॥ ೨ ॥
ಸ್ವಾನನ್ದವಾಸಿನೇ ತುಭ್ಯಂ ಸೌರಲೋಕನಿವಾಸಿನೇ ।
ಚತುರ್ಭುಜಧರಾಯೈವ ಸಹಸ್ರಕಿರಣಾಯ ಚ ॥ ೩ ॥
ಸಿದ್ಧಿಬುದ್ಧಿಪತೇ ತುಭ್ಯಂ ಸಞ್ಜ್ಞಾನಾಥಾಯ ತೇ ನಮಃ ।
ವಿಘ್ನಹನ್ತ್ರೇ ತಮೋಹನ್ತ್ರೇ ಹೇರಮ್ಬಾಯ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ ॥ ೪ ॥
ಅನನ್ತವಿಭವಾಯೈವ ನಾಮರೂಪಪ್ರಧಾರಿಣೇ ।
ಮಾಯಾಚಾಲಕ ಸರ್ವೇಶ ಸರ್ವಪೂಜ್ಯಾಯ ತೇ ನಮಃ ॥ ೫ ॥
ಗ್ರಹರಾಜಾಯ ದೀಪ್ತೀನಾಂ ದೀಪ್ತಿದಾಯ ಯಶಸ್ವಿನೇ ।
ಗಣೇಶಾಯ ಪರೇಶಾಯ ವಿಘ್ನೇಶಾಯ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ ॥ ೬ ॥
ವಿವಸ್ವತೇ ಭಾನವೇ ತೇ ರವಯೇ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಾಂ ಪತೇ ।
ಲಮ್ಬೋದರೈಕದನ್ತಾಯ ಮಹೋತ್ಕಟಾಯ ತೇ ನಮಃ ॥ ೭ ॥
ಯಃ ಸೂರ್ಯೋ ವಿಕಟಃ ಸೋಽಪಿ ನ ಭೇದೋ ದೃಶ್ಯತೇ ಕದಾ ।
ಭಕ್ತಿಂ ದೇಹಿ ಗಜಾಸ್ಯ ತ್ವಂ ತ್ವದೀಯಾಂ ಮೇ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ ॥ ೮ ॥
ಕಿಂ ಸ್ತೌಮಿ ತ್ವಾಂ ಗಣಾಧೀಶ ಯೋಗಾಕಾರಸ್ವರೂಪಿಣಮ್ ।
ಚತುರ್ಧಾ ಭಜ್ಯ ಸ್ವಾತ್ಮಾನಂ ಖೇಲಸಿ ತ್ವಂ ನ ಸಂಶಯಃ ॥ ೯ ॥
ಏವಂ ಸ್ವಸ್ಯ ಸ್ತುತಿಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ವಿಕಟೋ ರೂಪಮಾದಧೇ ।
ವಾಮಾಙ್ಗೇ ಸಞ್ಜ್ಞಯಾ ಯುಕ್ತಂ ಗಜವಕ್ತ್ರಾದಿಚಿಹ್ನಿತಮ್ ॥ ೧೦ ॥
ತಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಪ್ರಣನಾಮಾಥಾನೂರುರ್ಹರ್ಷಸಮನ್ವಿತಃ ।
ತಂ ಜಗಾದ ಗಣಾಧೀಶೋ ವರಂ ವೃಣು ಹೃದೀಪ್ಸಿತಮ್ ॥ ೧೧ ॥
ತ್ವಯಾ ಕೃತಮಿದಂ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಂ ಸರ್ವಸಿದ್ಧಿಪ್ರದಾಯಕಮ್ ।
ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ ನ ಸನ್ದೇಹಶ್ಚಿನ್ತಿತಂ ಸ ಲಭೇತ್ ಪರಮ್ ॥ ೧೨ ॥
ಶೃಣುಯಾದ್ವಾ ಜಪೇದ್ವಾಽಪಿ ತಸ್ಯ ಕಿಞ್ಚಿನ್ನ ದುರ್ಲಭಮ್ ।
ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ ಮಹಾಪಕ್ಷಿನ್ ಮಮ ಸನ್ತೋಷಕಾರಕಮ್ ॥ ೧೩ ॥
ಇತಿ ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ಮುದ್ಗಲೇ ಮಹಾಪುರಾಣೇ ಷಷ್ಠೇ ಖಣ್ಡೇ ಅರುಣ ಕೃತ ಶ್ರೀ ಭಾನುವಿನಾಯಕ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮ್ ॥
