An aarti in Sanskrit rather than in a spoken language, which is unusual for the form — most aartis in this collection are Marathi or Hindi, sung in the metre of the region. This one keeps the short, chantable lines an aarti needs while using the vocabulary of the philosophical hymns: dense with being, consciousness and happiness, maker of all bliss; whose single form is the syllable Om, having the shape of the supreme brahman. What it is for is the same as what any aarti is for — it is sung standing, with the lamp circling, at the end of worship — but the words being circled are the ones the Upanishads use, which makes it a good bridge between the two registers this corpus holds.

સકલપાપવિનાશકમઙ્ગલમતિપૂત।
દોષઘ્ન પાપઘ્ન શાપઘ્ન વિભવ
વિઘ્નામ્બુધિશોષણકરમદ્ભુતમુખકમલ॥૩॥
સ્વાનન્દામૃતલોક વૈદિકધર્મગુરો
શ્રુતિપાવિતસચ્ચરિતપ્રદમતિહિતવન્।
ધર્મોદ્ધારધુરીણ ધરણીભાગ્યકર
અવિરતતત્ત્વમસીતિ બોધનપટુદેવ॥૪॥
સુમુખવિનાયકનામ્ના કૃતયુગપરિપાલ
ગણેશ ઇતિ નામ્ના તુ ત્રેતાપરિપાલ।
